On NBC's “"Meet The Press"” this morning, host Tim Russert stocked his panel with three left-of-center journalists Nina Totenberg of NPR, Ron Brownstein of the Los Angeles Times, and David Gregory of NBC News – to discuss the events of the week. When they got to the nomination of Samuel Alito to replace retiring justice Sandra Day OÂ’Connor, Russert mentioned that when Bill Clinton was president, both Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer, despite obvious Liberal leanings, were approved by a strong majority of both Democrats and Republicans. And they say, "Why can't we have the same courtesy to conservative jurists under President Bush?"
Tim made sense TWICE this week...he is right about the judge situation...and he was right about the Democratic memo that was racist crap...
On this morning's "The Chris Matthews Show" on NBC, ABC News correspondent Sam Donaldson said that Vice President Cheney certainly knew what his chief of staff I. Lewis Libby was doing when he told reporters about Valerie Plame working for the CIA. In addition, Newsweek's Howard Fineman first compared President Bush to Tony Soprano of the HBO series “The Sopranos,” then called him "The Godfather,"” referring to a part played by Marlon Brando wherein he was the mafia chief of America's largest crime family named Vito Corleone.

At the very end of the half-hour program, host John McLaughlin made the panelists offer a prediction in response to his question: "Will Karl Rove quit or be dumped before Patrick Fitzgerald gives a judgment on indictment of him?"
Clift patronizingly replied: "No, the weaker this President is the more embattled he is, the more likely he is to cling to Karl Rove. He can't tie his shoelaces without Karl Rove."Yes, Bush is a stupid idiot that can not do anything without Rove and Cheney...we get it....who got better grades in college? Bush or Kerry? I can't seem to remember...Of course, Liberals are really saying that 50% of the American people are stupid idiots, because we elected him.
Newsweek Assistant Managing Editor Evan Thomas asserted that Bush's decision to dump Harriet Miers “takes him from stand-up guy to tool of the right. Thomas urged Bush to move left and drop Rove who “is the problem because Rove's entire engine is to polarize the country.
Why is it that when the Republicans stick up for thier beliefs they are polarizing and devisive? Do you EVER hear the Left called that? When they veto voter ID bills that 80% of Americans support, why aren't they called divisive...or "tools of the Left"

Obama will not be a VP...and Feingold looked good early, but has looked like a fool as of late...and he is a far left guy...they need a moderate to win...
the exact opposite is true for the right...they need a real conservative this time.

See anything in there hinting or otherwise implying that Alito is soft on the mob because he is Italian or for any other reason?

The story as I read it is that Alito did not run a very good case, and therefore he lost it. It happens, but in this case it was a major case and the results were unexpected.
