On NBC's "Meet The Press" this morning, host Tim Russert stocked his panel with three left-of-center journalists Nina Totenberg of NPR, Ron Brownstein of the Los Angeles Times, and David Gregory of NBC News to discuss the events of the week. When they got to the nomination of Samuel Alito to replace retiring justice Sandra Day OÂConnor, Russert mentioned that when Bill Clinton was president, both Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer, despite obvious Liberal leanings, were approved by a strong majority of both Democrats and Republicans. And they say, "Why can't we have the same courtesy to conservative jurists under President Bush?"
Tim made sense TWICE this week...he is right about the judge situation...and he was right about the Democratic memo that was racist crap...
On this morning's "The Chris Matthews Show" on NBC, ABC News correspondent Sam Donaldson said that Vice President Cheney certainly knew what his chief of staff I. Lewis Libby was doing when he told reporters about Valerie Plame working for the CIA. In addition, Newsweek's Howard Fineman first compared President Bush to Tony Soprano of the HBO series ÂThe Sopranos, then called him "The Godfather," referring to a part played by Marlon Brando wherein he was the mafia chief of America's largest crime family named Vito Corleone.
Yes, Republicans are evil mob-types. I love it when the Left says what is really on their mind...they look so good (for the right)
At the very end of the half-hour program, host John McLaughlin made the panelists offer a prediction in response to his question: "Will Karl Rove quit or be dumped before Patrick Fitzgerald gives a judgment on indictment of him?"
Clift patronizingly replied: "No, the weaker this President is the more embattled he is, the more likely he is to cling to Karl Rove. He can't tie his shoelaces without Karl Rove."Yes, Bush is a stupid idiot that can not do anything without Rove and Cheney...we get it....who got better grades in college? Bush or Kerry? I can't seem to remember...Of course, Liberals are really saying that 50% of the American people are stupid idiots, because we elected him.
Newsweek Assistant Managing Editor Evan Thomas asserted that Bush's decision to dump Harriet Miers Âtakes him from stand-up guy to tool of the right. Thomas urged Bush to move left and drop Rove who Âis the problem because Rove's entire engine is to polarize the country.
Why is it that when the Republicans stick up for thier beliefs they are polarizing and devisive? Do you EVER hear the Left called that? When they veto voter ID bills that 80% of Americans support, why aren't they called divisive...or "tools of the Left"

I'm not a liberal, and I say its more like 75%. Watch out for Feingold/Obama in 2008. :)
Obama will not be a VP...and Feingold looked good early, but has looked like a fool as of late...and he is a far left guy...they need a moderate to win...
the exact opposite is true for the right...they need a real conservative this time.
Heh, hence the smiley. Can you see ANYONE in the south voting for a ticket thad had a liberal notherner AND a black guy?
uummmm....nope
Scorpion says---
Let Feingold run- he can't continue to embarrass Wisconsin if he has to concentrate on his Presidential aspirations. Hopefully, he'll be in the race long enough to somehow give Wisconsin a break.
This supposed democratic racist stuff is BS. Here is the entire section of the so-called hit list regarding the mob trial:
Alito Embarrassed Government by Failing to Obtain Crucial Mafia Conviction
U.S. Attorney Alito Failed to Obtain Conviction of 20 Mobsters, Saying “You Can’t Win Them All.” Federal law enforcement agencies sustained a major rebuff in their anti-mafia campaign with the August 1988 acquittal of all 20 defendants accused of making up the entire membership of the Lucchese family in the New Jersey suburbs of New York. The verdict ended what was believed to be the nation’s longest federal criminal trial and according to the Chicago Tribune, dealt the government a “stunning defeat.” Samuel Alito, the US Attorney on the case, said, “Obviously we are disappointed but you realize you can’t win them all.” Alito also said he had no regrets about the prosecution but in the future would try to keep cases “as short and simple as possible.” Alito continued, “I certainly don’t feel embarrassed and I don’t think we should feel embarrassed.” [Guardian, 8/29/88; Chicago Tribune, 8/27/88; UPI, 8/26/88]
See anything in there hinting or otherwise implying that Alito is soft on the mob because he is Italian or for any other reason?
Why was this story brought up at all?
why was it first?
No one ever loses against the mob? is that the big dirt?
Maybe they should put an asterisk by his name too.... maybe he isn't Italian enough...just like Thomas isn't black enough (only makes sense if you are a liberal)
I refer to your second paragraph:
Tim made sense TWICE this week...he is right about the judge situation...and he was right about the Democratic memo that was racist crap...[emphasis added].
The story as I read it is that Alito did not run a very good case, and therefore he lost it. It happens, but in this case it was a major case and the results were unexpected.
