Rep. Tom DeLay, whose iron hold on the House Republicans melted as a lobbying corruption scandal engulfed the Capitol, told TIME that he will not seek reelection and will leave Congress within months. Taking defiant swipes at "the left" and the press, he said he feels "liberated" and vowed to pursue an aggressive speaking and organizing campaign aimed at promoting foster care, Republican candidates and a closer connection between religion and government.
"I'm going to announce tomorrow that I'm not running for reelection and that I'm going to leave Congress," DeLay, who turns 59 on Saturday, said during a 90-minute interview on Monday. "I'm very much at peace with it." He notified President Bush in the afternoon. DeLay and his wife, Christine, said they had been prepared to fight, but that he decided last Wednesday, after months of prayer and contemplation, to spare his suburban Houston district the mudfest to come. "This had become a referendum on me," he said. "So it's better for me to step aside and let it be a referendum on ideas, Republican values and what's important for this district."

I believe the Left saw another man that they had to take down...and the liberal smear machine went into full affect...

Do you notice how when people on the Left actually get caught doing something wrong (Bill) they don't have enough class to step down.
But when someone on the Right gets caught....or even gets accused of getting caught...they do what they think is right for the country and their party.

Everybody around Delay is taking pleas and singing like the Tabernacle Choir. But out of everybody on Delay's staff and everybody he has been working with, Delay is the only one whose hands are clean?

How can you say that Delay is accused of things there is no proof at all for. That is conservative bias if I ever read it. You have no clue as to the evidence that the Texas Grand Jury has or what evidence the Department of Justice has. So you don't know what you are talking about.
if you think there are not weeks and weeks of things to bash Clinton on, you have no clue...you lose all credibility of a person with rational thought when you defend Clinton...
and McKinney is worse on so many levels, it is not worth the time to explain why she is the devil...if you care to read a post a bit farther down you will see some reasons to hate her...
Man, on the way to work I thought how ignorant it is to think McKinney is not a total slime ball. This is the spokes person for everything that is wrong with a growing percent of the population.
She thinks because she is black she can do whatever she wants. Rules don't apply to her. And if you do get caught, just yell scream and claim racism.

You can bash Clinton on lots of things, but you can't prove much of anything because most of it was made up by people who had a grudge against him, paid for by those who wanted to see his presidency fail, and touted by a media who simply wanted stories.
Having many times stipulated that Clinton lied under oath and had sex with an intern, I challenge you to prove any other non-policy charge against him. The justice department and the special prosecutor spent over $30million and couldn't. I doubt you can.

"The final, official report from the Government Accounting Office was released on June 11, 2002. The 220 page document says there was damage, although not as much as some of the early reports had suggested. The GAO says the damage included 62 missing computer keyboards, 26 cell phones, two cameras, ten antique doorknobs and several presidential medallions and office signs. The damage estimate was about $20,000. Clinton critics say the report proves that the departing Clinton staff members acted recklessly and disrespectfully. Clinton supporters say the report shows that the allegations of vandalism were exaggerated and that there were similar incidents when Clinton took over the White House from the staff of George Bush.
The GAO report concludes that even though damage was verified and that some of it appeared to have been intentional, there was not clear evidence of who was responsible for it."

You got to it before I could Jim. I love that pardon tidbit. Just another case of media no-bias. The media will run with any sensational story that pleases them. Its not their fault that the presidential incumbant is an arrogant, self-serving newsbashing incompetant. I mean, its a fucking gift.
Now, McKinney......the woman is a psycho who only cares about herself and has no respect for anyone. The tool she uses to try and gain power is claiming racism about everything.
I got no defense for McKinney.
Let's see, $20,000 worth of damages. Probably less than the cost of putting up a fresh coat of paint on a small portion of the West Wing. The accusations and "costs" have no context since you only assume (because you will say ANYTHING to slime Clinton) that the "damages" to the West Wing were anything out of the ordinary for a change of administration.
