Bush Bans Protests at Military Funerals

Okay liberals, take a deep breath...in though the nose, out through the mouth...

Now, lets talk about this story calmly.

First, I can understand someone saying that we have a constitutional right to protest.

I guess my point would be......can't some things lack so much class, be so morally wrong, so irresponsible and disrespectful, that even if you CAN do it you SHOULDN'T....

If my friend died in Iraq and some people protested at his funeral...I would quickly and effectively kick all their asses, period....there are somethings you should not do, and I hope you liberals have enough class to atleast admit that...

I have no problem with this. You do know why this was done, don't you? It's because of Fred Phelps and his super-conservative, right-wing mob who protests the military funerals.

These right-wing conservatives carry "signs that read 'Thank God for IED's' and 'Thank God for Dead Soldiers'."

Did you read the article? It's not about liberals protesting at all.

In fact, I bet you couldn't find a single story from the last five years about liberals protesting at military funerals.

I don't think that is what I said, and I knew this would come up...I know who is protesting and they suck bad...

I am talking about the principle of the thing, aren't you pissed at this???

Isn't Bush taking away your rights again?
That is what I wanted the liberals to comment on...

I read an article, this morning. According to that, all he did was limit the distance to which the protesters could come to the actual funeral. Their ability to protest has not been infringed, only mitigated. Oh, and in defense of jim and jay, here is your quote:

"there are somethings you should not do, and I hope you liberals have enough class to atleast admit that..."

You did call out the liberals as somehow being mixed up with the funeral-protesting. What I see from those protestors is the freakshow religious right getting out of their handlers(Pubs) hands. These dudes are at least as much a danger as the hippie/PC/race card/reactionist liberals that you call out on a regular basis.

I see your point in the quote, but I meant that there should be no one who is sticking up for these people...
and I agree with you 100%
Rhyno's position is my position...

Man, we agree yet we are still arguing...

I agree that these people are truly sick and it makes a good example of how religion can totally twist the whole concept of love and caring. I have yet to find anyone who stands up for them so there is basically little to debate. I think they have the right to protest but only at publlic or political events. I don't know why Bush didn't lock them off it a cage blocks away like he does the other protesters? Why is it ok to do that with some and not with all? Cuz it's not his ox getting gored?

You make a good comment, then you cloud it up with Bush hate...

Well, at last heard count, with a 29% approval rating, an illegal war going on, rights of the american people being taken away, the selling out of america to international corporate whores...

Is there any reason why dubya should NOT be detested right about now?

Oh, that's right. He's under the Repug ticket. That makes everything he does all right.

thanks for contributing about the discussion about protesting military funerals, very informative...

You brought it up... to quote you:

You make a good comment, then you cloud it up with Bush hate...

You love to leave yourself open to these things with your own generalizing comments

Then when people respond to your openness you complain

Get a grip

So, when I point out that someone has gone off topic, that is leaving me open...interesting logic...

Only because you went off topic first.

I even quoted it for you.
