Texas has one of the nation's strongest public information laws. But Governor Bush wanted to keep his papers secret anyway. Accordingly, in 1997, he sought and obtained a change in Texas law to help him do so.
The new law allows the governor to select a site for his papers other than the Texas State Library -- as long as it is in Texas. But the governor must first consult with the state's library and archives commission to make certain any alternative arrangement satisfied the state's open access law.
When Bush became president-elect, however, he simply sent his papers and records with no consultation whatsoever to his father's presidential library at Texas A&M University -- known as the most secretive of all the existing presidential libraries.
The result was, in effect, to federalize the papers and records, placing them in a legal limbo where no one could have access. Bush Senior's presidential library is run by the Federal Government -- specifically, the National Archives And Records Administration (NARA).
But Peggy Rudd, Director and Librarian of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, refused to accept Bush's designation of his father's library as the repository for his papers. Eventually, she procured a ruling by the Texas attorney general, making Bush's gubernatorial papers subject to the Texas Public Information Act -- whereupon they were sent to Austin for processing.
Soon, however, Texas Governor Perry -- Bush's friend and hand-picked successor -- and the new attorney general found new exceptions in the state's information law that they claim give them the keys to the relevant filing cabinets. Good luck to those seeking access.

A correction- Game did not use "Clinton Crime family." He used "Clinton rapes." No substantive difference in my opinion.

Bush crime family...I know DailyKos readers think that is perfectly true, but you run into the problem of facts. I know you have your fake documents and your made up accusations that Bush lied to go to war (even though every other person in the world believed the same intelligence). So once again, I say something based on something that actually happened...you simply make up some silly thing you read at a wingbat lefty site.
Did they press charges? Was President Clinton convicted? Didn't think so.

hash forgot to show the facts of the "bush crime family" and he also forgot to explain how ONLY Bush lied about the intel going to war with Iraq, while everyone else who said the exact same things he said (Kerry, Clinton, eveyone else) was NOT lying. Go to DailyKos and find an answer.

The key difference is that the Democrats were lied TO, whereas Bush sought deliberately to deceive the entire nation.
Show proof...prove that he knew for a fact that there were no significant WMD's...and don't show me one report for one guy that suggests it. The President gets TONS of intel every day...and if most of it said they had WMD's, and every intelligence agency in the world agreed...that doesn't make it a lie.
See, you can't just SAY things and hope they are true just because they sound good or lots of people at DailyKos say them.

The Libs here can't admit that when it was a Democrat in the White House and his Democrat Senators saying things back in the late 1990s, they were lied to. When Bush used the same intel, it was Bush lying.
It shows how dishonest each and every one of them, especially hash are.
Game, we've been over this countless times. Intelligence all over the world believed that Saddam had WMDs.
But they all also knew that there were very real reasons to challenge that belief. The difference is that George W. Bush and Dick Cheney said, "There is no doubt..." That's a lie. There was doubt and they knew there was doubt. They were lying. They did not present the doubts along with the evidence.
They lied.
