MSNBC, CNBC Refuse to Run Pro-War Ads

There is nothing wrong with the ad.
But it is offensive to all the liberals who run these stations.
But I thought conservatives were "really" in charge of the networks. That is the lame line liberals give the hundreds of times I show media bias.
So, wouldn't the conservatives and their Zionist masters allow for this ad to be put on the air?
Oh wait, liberals really run the networks and the media, so they have to do everything they can to stifle conservative ideas.

So you are conceding that they were displaying a conservative bias when they were refusing to air the anti war ads, yes?

Because I'd be more than happy to compare the number of anti war ads that have been denied vs the number of pro war ads that have been denied.

By your logic, if the networks are denying the anti war ads more than the pro war ads, that would indicate a conservative, or more accurately, a warmongering bias.

You have to look at them one by one...see what the reason is for not letting them on the air. If the anti-war ads are full of lies or graphic material, then it would make sense not to run them.

Reality check:

http://www.jta.org/cgi-bin/iowa/breaking/103795.html

Four of five members of the board of a campaign promoting President Bush's policies in the Iraq war are Republican Jews.

The board of "Freedom's Watch" includes Ari Fleischer, Bush's former press secretary; Matt Brooks, the executive director of the Republican Jewish Coalition; Bradley Blakeman, a senior White House staffer in Bush's first term; and Mel Sembler, a longtime RJC leader and former ambassador to Rome.

Brooks told JTA that the fifth member, William Weidner, a casino operator in Las Vegas, is not Jewish. However, Weidner's wife, Lynn, is Jewish and is active in that city's federation. Blakeman is the group's president.

Brooks said it would be a mistake to regard the group as having a Jewish direction.

"It's a coincidence that several of the board members are Jewish," he said, noting that half of the donors contributing to the group's first $15 million ad campaign are not Jewish."

Good for MSNBC! They realize they are an AMERICAN network, not an Israeli one!

Of course, this will mean they will be FORCED to carry their dirty commercials. In fact, I'm sure they will demand a no-fee arrangement, on threat of squawks and lawsuits and Abraham Foxman.

Tried to tell you clowns why we were REALLY in this war...

To all of the Democrats here-- how can you guys tolerate people like hashfanatic in your ranks?

hashfanatic said...

Jason, what makes you think I'm a Democrat in the first place?

Bad form, Mr. Bowden, very bad form.

I'm very disappointed. And I don't handle disappointment well....

Jason, even if he were a Dem, weren't you one of the people decrying the supposed ideological totalitarianism in the Democratic party?

I always hear Republicans talking about how dems are not willing to tolerate any dissent and how Dems are so intolerant of any differing viewpoints.

Now, here is someone who, if he were a Democrat, would be expressing opinions out of the Democratic mainstream, and you expect us to expunge him from the party for not being ideologically pure enough?

I wish more democrats had the ability to challenge the centrist, corporate-facist enabling policies of the Democrats instead of just enabling Republicans.

Basically the Dems and Republicans are merrily walking our country down the path to a totalitarian, corporate controlled fascist state with the vast majority of Americans serving as wage slaves to serve the wealthy. I respect Hashfanatic for recognizing that fact.

He's right, Jason. Hashdude is truly a unique animal. He's a special Olympian. They broke the mold when he was created. Unfortunately he was still in it at the time and suffered severe cranial damage. But he's one in a million.

realism--

I thought that David Duke-style kooks were not a legitimate part of the discussion within leftist circles. You can get banned in places like DemocraticUnderground for bashing Hugo Chavez. But if hate Bush, capitalism, and traditional morality, all sins are forgiven, even the Hitlerish ones.

And yes, hash is a Democrat. Being cynical is part of being on the left-- if they are happy campers, why would they be obsessed with "hope?"

Your post contains two logical fallacies.

First, you are overgeneralizing. Just because a person might detest a certain subset of a certain group does not mean that the person hates the entire group.

When I hear some people making this argument, I have to think that it's more a reflection of their own thinking. I've heard many on the right make this accusation about the left (anti-semitism). At the same time, the same people on the right will use that thinking process themselves, when contemplating the relationship between radical fundamentalist Muslim terrorists and Muslims in general. Just because a person hates a specific group of people of a specific ideology that happen to be Jewish doesn't mean that person hates Jewish people in general.

Also, you are resorting to the timeworn tactic of "demonizing the enemy" by comparing people who are opposed to a specific political ideology (neoconservatism) to Nazis.

Sounds like a smokescreen for globalism to me.

To me, it sounds like an attack Jason would hurl at any one upset with the nations, particularly America, losing their sovereignity, in favor of a new world order.

Phil,

One problem with your defense of Hash, Hash hung himself with his only criticism of a URL I pointed to as written by a Jew, not an Israeli, but a Jew. Game left up the post to document Hash's bigotry and stupidity.

Now, Phil, go into your Jew hating corner with Hash and don your suicide belts.

"I personally don't hate Jews. Don't hate Muslims either."

Me neither, but I don't have much use for either of them, particularly when they are allowed to control the decision-making of American politicians...

I resent the American right-wing terribly for dragging us into these tribal battles for their own benefit.

Not one American soldier should be forced to give his life for the interests of Jerusalem OR Riyadh.
