RFK, Jr. 15 months ago: Global warming means no snow or cold in DC

Here is what liberals, not just RFK have thought for years, and some that read this blog still believe in global warming and the melting of the ice caps...

In Virginia, the weather also has changed dramatically. Recently arrived residents in the northern suburbs, accustomed to today's anemic winters, might find it astonishing to learn that there were once ski runs on Ballantrae Hill in McLean, with a rope tow and local ski club. Snow is so scarce today that most Virginia children probably don't own a sled. But neighbors came to our home at Hickory Hill nearly every winter weekend to ride saucers and Flexible Flyers.

In those days, I recall my uncle, President Kennedy, standing erect as he rode a toboggan in his top coat, never faltering until he slid into the boxwood at the bottom of the hill. Once, my father, Atty. Gen. Robert Kennedy, brought a delegation of visiting Eskimos home from the Justice Department for lunch at our house. They spent the afternoon building a great igloo in the deep snow in our backyard. My brothers and sisters played in the structure for several weeks before it began to melt. On weekend afternoons, we commonly joined hundreds of Georgetown residents for ice skating on Washington's C&O Canal, which these days rarely freezes enough to safely skate.

Meanwhile, Exxon Mobil and its carbon cronies continue to pour money into think tanks whose purpose is to deceive the American public into believing that global warming is a fantasy.

and of course...

It just snowed 27.5 inches...
Well done on that global warming religion...oh wait, that failed so now you call it climate change..
You really really should be embarrassed...

You're really obsessed with this, aren't you. I'd say the one's with global warming "religion" are the deniers like you. Your passion is obvious.

You don't seem to understand that among the results of global warming are the earth's attempts to reach balance. Every temperature change creates a chain of effects and events and among those are radical weather, both warm and cold, wet and dry.

Pure BS JIm Pure BS. Fact: The climate is cyclical and any balance achieved is over hundreds of centuries. A big snowstorm in DC does prove something. RFK was wrong, the IPCC was wrong, Al gore was wrong, and the hockey stick prediction is wrong.

Let future generations deal with the mounting debt and global warming. No need for us to worry about it....party on Garth.

I really feel pity for the people too stupid to understand the difference between weather and climate. BTW, we just finished the seventh warmest january on record.

But of course, if you are too stupid to know the difference between weather and climate, you are probably too stupid to know that warmer weather leads to more moisture in the air, which then leads to more snow.

awww..look at the little liberal trying to think...its so cute..

I have blown your asses out of the water on this topic already...

Jim, and I'm sorry I have to look at things on a factual basis...
No matter what I wanted to believe about global warming I would have to throw out all the research and predictions simply based on the very, very, very insignificant and inaccurate sample size of the data collection

The seventh warmest whatever on record. Based on what data?

did you read your link? It doesn't say what you think it does.

Also
Global warming theory predicts that global precipitation will increase, and that heavy precipitation events--the ones most likely to cause flash flooding--will also increase. This occurs because as the climate warms, evaporation of moisture from the oceans increases, resulting in more water vapor in the air. According to the 2007 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report, water vapor in the global atmosphere has increased by about 5% over the 20th century, and 4% since 1970. The Climate Extremes Index plot for extreme 1-day precipitation events (Figure 7) does indeed show a sharp increase in heavy precipitation events in recent decades, with seven of the top ten years for these event occurring since 1995.

I won't comment on the validity of IPCC reports, too often questioned as based on poor computer models, rigged stats and recordings, and other lies, mistruths, half-truths and such. Add that to the reams of stuff by knowledgable and equally expert scientists and researchers that dispute it all, it's getting harder to take seriously the Chicken Little warnings of the AGW proponents.

What I'd like to see is some solid explanation as to what is the optimum climate for earth, how hot can it get without the armeggedon predicted by the loonies. I'm thinking we can easily handle a few average degrees hotter than now and benefit as well.

The climate will always change. No one disputes that at all. What is in dispute is our part in it. Quite doubtful we have much. This is not to say that we shouldn't take steps to do things in the cleanest and healthiest possible way. But to spend unknown quantities of cash to try to prevent the temperature from rising a degree or two, as if we could, is about the most asinine and Gold Medal winning stupid waste of money one can imagine.

Obama was unable to stop unemployment from going up. So, yeah, let have him try to stop the globe from warming. LOL or I would be COL (crying)
