The BP thing was an accident...stopping drilling will not change that...
What it will do is raise energy costs, costs a whole lot of jobs, and that's it.
Sorry liberals, you might not like it, but we need oil..thats a fact.
So Obama campaigned saying we have to lower our dependence on foreign oil, yet he stops us from drilling.
If you don't like drilling in the water, then how about in the Dakotas? How about in Alaska where no one lives? Why not there?
Because you don't want to drill anywhere..

Yes it was. In the same way as killing 6 kids while driving through a school crossing at 100 mph with a blood alcohol level of .30 while texting is an accident.

No one lives 5,000 feet below the surface of the Gulf of Mexico either.
You don't get it. If you can't safely drill at 5,000 feet, you shouldn't be drilling at 5,000 feet. This "accident" had more warnings and alerts than an August 6th presidential daily briefing. Guys on the rig were apparently writing wills because they knew of the shortcuts and ignored warnings.
It sounds like you are willing to accept disasters like this every so often because it's just part of the business of extracting oil offshore and keeping your car running.
So based on Jim's stupid logic, when there was an accident at Miller Park they should have given up and shut it down. Since liberalism fails at everything it does, that would make sense.
Jim wants us all to be like California, bankrupt and miserable.
Look at his distain and hate for cars and oil.
If there were warning signs I guess the govt should have stepped in and took care of it. You don't stop doing something because one person did it wrong. We don't stop planes from flying because of one crash. But that is what you have to do when you don't know what to do...or maybe Obama just hates cars and business and people having jobs as much as Jim does.
And no, you don't accept accidents like this, but you don't give up and shut it down because of an accident either. If drilling in the ocean is so hard then go drill in the places that are easier and safer...but we can't because we might move a rock in Alaska where no one lives.

I don't know anything about Miller Park. Sounds totally irrelevant to me.
But I know that if a wing falls off a 737, I know all 737s will probably be grounded until they find out why.
In the case of this leak, if they can't fix this leak and they don't know how to fix such leaks, then they should stop drilling until they know they can avoid and stop such things from happening again.

California has financial problems. They're not caused by lack of drilling oil. They are partly caused by being fucked over by the scum at Enron. But there are other problems and I won't minimize them. Some people are really hurting, but most aren't. I'm not miserable, but my next door neighbors lost their house. Not because of liberals but because of the housing bubble and the economic decline that started long before Obama became president.
